Aviation Unit
The DNR Enforcement Aviation Unit consists of officers who function as both natural resource pilots and enforcement officers. Some of their time is spent providing support to other enforcement officers with Recreational Vehicle and Fish & Game enforcement in rural areas where the 'eyes in the sky' provide a different vantage point from which to observe violations and enforce laws. Many hunters and anglers have been surprised to see an airplane land beside them and a CO hop out to check their license. The balance of their duties include assistance to the Fish and Wildlife divisions with fish stocking, GIS surveys, and wildlife management activities.
